Raising funds in support of The Quinte Children’s Foundation
HOPE AND RESILIENCY AT HOME AND WORK”
This year the Canadian Association for Suicide Prevention is pleased to be partnering with the Mental Health Commission of Canada to promote World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD), held on September 10, 2013. Building on the international theme of “Stigma: A major Barrier to Suicide Prevention”, Canada will be focusing this year’s theme on Hope and Resiliency at Home and Work.
Andy Bhatti will cycle from Vernon to Vancouver to raise funds and awareness for victims of sexual abuse.
Men of Hope’s 2013 Ride for Reason will be donating funds to Sophie’s Place Child Advocacy Centre in Surrey, BC.
Sophie’s Place is intended to be a multi-disciplinary, child centred service for children who are victims of abuse. It is to be modeled after the Zebra Child Protection Centre in Edmonton. The Advocacy Centre will support children 0-12 who are victims of abuse with a new more child friendly approach to investigations of abuse; sadly, children with special needs are disproportionately victims of child abuse.
Men of Hope’s Ride for Reason is GEARING UP for another SUCCESSFUL EVENT in aid of
SOPHIE’S PLACE CHILD ADVOCACY CENTRE
